Over a year has passed since the occurrence of a high school shooting that took the lives of five students. Grace, the mother of one of the slain students, is unexpectedly visited by her once close friend Miranda, who arrives shaken and brings with her an unimaginable request. The Shrine looks at a devastating experience, the impact of its aftermath, and a test of emotional survival from trauma. Approximately 30 minutes. Featuring: Anne Connolly and Elizabeth Howell.

The Shrine won second place in the Helen Jean Prize for playwriting, 3rd place in the 2013 Frostburg University One Act Play competition, was in the finals for the 2013 Warner Int. Play Competition as well as the 2014 Dubuque Fine Arts One Act Competition. It has been produced at: Theatre Three One Act Festival in Port Jefferson, NY, Old Library Theatre, Fair Lawn, NJ, Aery Theatre Spring One Act Festival, Garrison, NY [directed by Michael] and at Blue Orange Theatre, Birmingham, UK [under the title ‘Black Hole’].
