Light Up The Sky: Don’t Miss the October Workshop on October 4th!

 In News

Derek Tarson will be directing the first act of Moss Hart’s “Light Up The Sky” for the October Workshop at the membership meeting on Tuesday, October 4th.

It’s 1948. The three hours before a new play by fledgling playwright, Peter Sloan, involving some of the great talents on Broadway, is set to open out-of- town in Boston. The play is experimental and fresh. Everyone is wildly enthusiastic (except for the lead actress’ mother). In the tradition of show business people everywhere, love, earnestness, enthusiasm, and warm feelings abound in histrionic excess—until they don’t. This lovable Moss Hart classic ran for 214 performances and is still a favorite in regional theatre.

The wonderfully talented cast includes:

Miss Lowell . . . . . . . . . . . . Kerry Davis
Carleton Fitzgerald . . . . . .Larry Gabbard
Frances Black . . . . . . . . . . Debbie Buchsbaum
Owen Turner . . . . . . . . . . .Ralph Bowers
Stella Livingston . . . . . . . . Maxine Bernstein
Peter Sloan . . . . . . . . . . . . Damon Fischetti
Sidney Black . . . . . . . . . . . Michael Gruda
Irene Livingston . . . . . . . . Jeanmarie Garver

There will a Q & A after the show – along with a teaser scene from Act II, which will be performed as a reading by the cast – for all those who can stay.
