Scheduled Workshop Performances
workshops are held at our monthly open membership meetings. Workshop performances may be an original piece by a local author, experimental theatre, a staged reading of a classic, a new talent showcase, an evening of improv, or a master class in technique. Join Us!
September 2010 - Steve Kiss directing scenes from the play "Freedom Summer", an original play by William Tucker, commemorating the civil rights volunteers from the North who went down to Mississippi in 1962 to help register black voters.
October 2010 - Scott Nangle directing, “America’s Got Tragedy” By Gina Gionfriddo. This satirical one-act play depicts a televised reality competition where contestants vie to prove their own life is the most tragic.
November 2010 - Candy Pittari directs act one of "St. Lucy’s Eyes", written by award winning Bridgette Wimberly. The piece takes on issues (Ruby Dee's words) "about temptation, sacrifice, ambition, redemption, regret, love, callousness, forgiveness and second chances.' Ruby Dee played the original "Grandma", a character caught up in personal moral and religious complexities.
December 2010 - Comedy Night. Hilarious, interactive, short form improvisation. Directed by Larry Marino.
January 2011 - Stage Makeup Workshop with Christie Nadrotowski: Basic stage makeup workshop: to consist of basic male and female looks, aging and basic injuries (bruising, bleeding). Also, will have an interactive q&a. Training with John Anthony Lopez, currently working with photographers Michael Chadwick and Di Zhang, both of NYC.
