Play Selection Committee Member
(2015-2017)

Jeanmarie Gaver-Gaydos is a graduate of Rowan University with a BA in Speech & Theatre and a Minor in Communications.  She originally did Community theatre in south Jersey at The Vineland Little Theatre.  Moving to North Jersey after college she became involved in several community theatres:  Ridgewood Acting Troupe, The Village Players, and Pasack Players.  Moving on to Bergen County Players where she is now a life member – having performed in over 25 main stages, numerous workshops and Second Stages and directed 3 workshops, 3 second stages and 3 Main stage Productions.  Serving on the Play selection committee and Member at Large to Play casting each for 2 years.  She has directed and performed at the Barn Theatre in Montville, along with Leonia Player’s Guild, Nutley Little Theatre and of course Elmwood Playhouse.  She most recently appeared there in Love, Loss and What I Wore.

She is an avid theatre goer in the city and rarely misses a Community Theatre Production. Having been on both sides of the curtain for a long time – she thinks that has taught her a lot about what works and what doesn’t. She is constantly surprised by wonderful directors who transfigure old chestnuts or find little unknown gems. She is also proud to be involved with so many groups who consistently put on quality productions. Elmwood has a loyal and eclectic audience who likes to be challenged, given food for thought and of course entertained. It is an honor and serious though pleasurable responsibility to serve on this committee.
