Claudia Stefany is a freelance Costume Designer and Stage Director in the greater New York area and abroad. She currently is an acting instructor and director at Stage Left Children’s Theater in Tappan and has been their resident Costume Designer for the past 15 years. A musical theatre major at the University of Cincinnati’s College Conservatory of Music, Claudia went on to graduate from Baldwin-Wallace University in Cleveland, and was a charter member of the Cincinnati Playhouse-in-the-Park’s acting intern company. She has been designing costumes and directing plays and musicals at Elmwood for nearly 10 seasons, including Spring Awakening, Enchanted April and Sunday In the Park with George. She will be at the helm again for the Rockland County premiere of Jason Robert Brown’s musical The Bridges of Madison County in the 2017-18 season and will be begin a new chapter of her career with the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival in the summer 2017. Claudia serves as liaison to the Director’s Development Committee and is a first-term board member.
