Joe Lima and Maiysha Jones Win First Round in Aery Theatre Competition

Joe Albert Lima and Maiysha Jones have been selected to advance to the second round in Aery Theatre Company’s annual 20/20 One-Act Festival. Joe directed Evelyn Mertin’s The Dancing Girl on the 4 Train, a monologue performed by Maiysha.

The Aery Theatre’s annual 20/20 festival runs for two weekends at the Depot Theatre in Garrison, NY. It features 20 plays, each 20 minutes or less in length. At each performance, five plays are presented and the audience votes to select two favorites. The first round winners are performed again the following weekend and an overall winner is chosen at the final performance on Sunday, September 24, 2017.

At Elmwood, Joe Albert Lima has performed in two plays, directed five, and is slated to direct his sixth, Stick Fly, opening in March 2018.

Maiysha Jones has appeared at Elmwood as Mayme in Intimate Apparel and as Gwen Hailey in A Time to Kill.
